"We follow the PBIS model for behavior expectations at Lineville Intermediate School. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. It is a framework or approach for assisting school personnel in adopting and organizing evidence-based behavioral interventions into an integrated continuum that enhances academic and social behavior outcomes for all students."

Lineville believes in rewarding positive behavior. We actively seek out students who are doing the
right thing and give them a Roadrunner Reward. Students will be able to redeem these rewards for
various coupons for such things like sitting in the teacher's chair, missing homework pass, or being able
to leave for lunch a few minutes early. Students earn rewards for anything they do that is expected.
Students earn rewards for getting their planners signed, getting their homework done on time, entering
the classroom quietly, lining up quickly, working on assigned tasks, doing nice things for others, etc.
Focusing on positive behavior, instead of negative, leads to more positive behavior. Should students
decide not to follow classroom expectations, consequences are set in place through our minor/major referral system.

EPIC REMINDERS- Major or Minors
The EPIC House also believes in providing students gentle reminders for appropriate and expected behavior prior to giving a student a major or minor with the exception of missing homework. As a result, our house will be using an on-line behavior program called Class DoJo. We will track behavior that does not meet expectations. Consistent minor behavior other than missing homework that does not meet school expectations will result in a minor infraction. Major behavior that puts either the student or other students at risk will result in an immediate major infraction. Parents will be notified of both minor or major infractions but not reminders.

MONTHLY EPIC SUCCESS EVENTS
Each month students will have the opportunity to earn an EPIC Success Event by not having any majors and only three minors to be eligible to attend the event. The number of minors may be reduced as the year progresses and students become more familiar with expectations. Students that do not meet these requirements will work with one of the teachers to be retaught expectations, reflect on why they were not able to attend the event and develop strategies to ensure that they will be at the next event, and practice appropriate behavior.

MASH - Mandatory After School Homework
In order to help each child to succeed and develop into their full potential, Lineville Intermediate School offers mandatory after school homework sessions (MASH). These sessions are intended for students who are behind in their classwork and are having a difficult time catching up. These sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:00pm. Parents would be notified in advance if there is a need for MASH sessions.
NOON - Incomplete Work
NOON - Incomplete Work
In the event that a child comes to school with an incomplete homework assignment, they will be required to attend a NOON homework session. Students bring their lunch to this session and work on any incomplete work.
NOON - Extra Help
If students are struggling with any subject, they can request to come into our classrooms for extra help. Students will go and get their lunch and then work with the teacher while eating their lunch. Teachers may also request that students come in for a Noon for extra help, if the student does not seem to be grasping new concepts.
